More than a dozen of gay and lesbian couples throughout Japan sued the government because of banning same sex marriage. They insisted that it violated the constitutional right to equality. Actually, Japan is the only G7 country that does not allow gay marriage. (CNN, February 14, 2019)
If same sex marriage were approved, people across Japan could understand LGBT better than now. This would give LGBT couples equal rights with opposite sex couples. As an example, our company rule might be changed. Our company has partly supported the rent of employees who married the opposite sex partners, but LGBT employees who have partners might be able to get the same benefit. This kind of change will not only increase the number of same sex marriage but also lead to the country with no discrimination. Therefore, I really respect LGBT couples who are fighting for the right to marry.
