Today, I was feeling well.
I visited TOWER RECORDS near the south gate of Shinjuku station for the first time in a long time. I didn’t have special reasons though.
I would go there to find exported CDs when I was a college student.
I had difficulty getting CDs from foreign countries then, but TOWER RECORDS had the latest ones.
However, I gradually came to lose the opportunity to go to CD stores because music streaming apps have been increasing the market share lately. Therefore, CD stores near my place have closed or reduced the amount of stocks.
Visiting TOWER RECORDS gave me a nostalgic feeling as the atmosphere of the shop such as POP, colors of the floor, and so on was almost as same as before. That made me feel well today.
On the other hand, I could see the difference from before.
TOWER RECORDS seemed to narrow down the main target customers which are geeks and increased the variety of items for them.
I thought it is a good change to keep up with the current market trend.
By the way, I am going on a business trip in Taiwan tomorrow.
Our company has a subsidiary company there and I’m joining a launch event of our new product.
I will do the market research if I have time.
I’d like to know if there are changes in local market and consider what we should do to survive at local market.
